This solo exhibition by photographer Hazel Plater will take place in the High Bridge Works reception, organised by Newcastle Contemporary Art.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, Plater returned to the streets of Newcastle upon Tyne to record the re-emergence of people into the public space.
Photographed in the candid street style, the works in this social documentary series are sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant, and a celebration of the resilience, hope and pride that is found in community. These are ‘quick pics of people doing stuff’ and simultaneously a nuanced reflection on humanity, ourselves and our challenges.
The exhibition runs from September 12th to October 12th.
