Stuck in a Lift with a Lizard

04 March 2026

Currently in her final year studying Fine Art at Newcastle University, Kathryn Lunt creates sculptural textile installations drawing inspiration from everyday conversations, observations and small moments, playing with composition and scale to transform the familiar into the uncanny. These large scale sculptures create immersive environments which surround and encase the viewer; making them laugh, feel uncomfortable or confronted.

Stuck in a Lift with a Lizard offers a retrospective of Kathryn’s practice over the last few years, expressing her love for soft sculpture installations.

Involved in the organisation of From a Single Thread in 2023, Kathryn’s return to the High Bridge Works Reception has been a delight to our staff and studio holders.

You can find more information about Kathryn’s work on her website.

We can’t wait to see what she does next!
