Where We Are

13 January 2026

This exhibition, which took place in the High Bridge Works Reception, was comprised of a range of artworks including drawings, photographs and a film created by local young people over the course of a series of artist-led workshops exploring themes of identity and belonging.

The project was created in partnership with The British Museum, NE Youth, Tyneside Cinema and local artist and facilitator Bex Harvey, and funded by Paul Hamlyn Foundation.

Although brief, running from January 13th – 16th only, the exhibition was incredibly well received by studio holders and the public alike. The preview event was well-attended and featured a Q&A with the participants. It was truly wonderful to hear the thirteen young people involved speak about the project and resulting works, with many of them never having previously had much interest in the arts.
