Re-branding collaboration brings new life to High Bridge Works

Leading brand communication studios Altogether and Everything combined their considerable expertise to establish a vibrant identity for one of Newcastle’s most precious historic buildings.

Inspired by High Bridge’s rich heritage of innovation and the diverse creativity of its contemporary community, the partnership established a new name for the building, High Bridge Works and created a contrasting typographic brand identity that is unique, authentic and compelling.

Sarah Tempest, Strategy Director at Altogether said, “Our studio has been based here since starting-up five years ago and it’s an eclectic and supportive creative community to be part of. To have the opportunity to collaborate with a neighbouring studio has been a great experience. We’ve shared ideas, challenged one another and worked closely together to achieve an identity we are all proud of.”

Mickey Devine, Creative Director at Everything said, “The High Bridge Works name and identity celebrates the rich history of the building and highlights the legacy of all the remarkable makers, creators and thinkers who have worked here over the past 254 years. Contrasting typography is sensitively combined using a serif typeface to nod to the studios past life as a printing press, while the san serif represents the current individuals and organisations who call High Bridge Works home. Our aim was to create a brand identity that not only celebrates the past but looks to the future as High Bridge Works prepares for the next phase of its illustrious journey.”
